Valpo man finds wife in bed with another man, attacks them

VALPARAISO, Ind. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man who saw his wife's car outside another man's home was charged with walking in on the naked pair and beating them in Valparaiso, Ind.

The 47-year-old woman's boyfriend, 43, told police Juan Esquivel-Reyes, 47, of Union Township, Ind., knocked on the door of his condo in the 1300 block of Winding Ridge Road in Valparaiso about 4:20 p.m. Thursday, according to a police report.

When no one answered, Esquivel-Reyes allegedly walked in through an unlocked door of the condo and found the two in bed and started kicking and punching the woman, police said.

The man pulled Esquivel-Reyes off her, and Esquivel-Reyes then turned to him -- kicking, punching and scratching until he left the condo, police said.

The woman insisted nothing happened and only reluctantly gave police her husband's information. When officers found Esquivel-Reyes at home, he reportedly admitted entering the residence uninvited but denied attacking anyone.

Esquivel-Reyes was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for felony residential entry, misdemeanor battery causing injury and misdemeanor domestic battery.
