CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Chicago-area home prices posted a second straight drop in October.

The S & P/Case-Shiller index found single-family home prices fell 1.5% from September to October. That's after dropping point 6 percent from August to September.

The number is a closely watched index of local home prices.

Chicago-area prices were down 1.3% year over year, making the city and New York the only two in a 20-city index where October prices were down compared with October of 2011.
