TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Federal authorities say a Mexican man wanted in connection with a Phoenix homicide has been arrested in southern Arizona.

U.S. Border Patrol officials said Wednesday that agents from the Douglas Station took 29-year-old Narcizo Yepiz-Urrea into custody for being in the country illegally.

During processing, agents say they discovered Yepiz-Urrea was wanted in Phoenix on suspicion of first-degree murder.

He was turned over to the Cochise County Sheriff's Office to await extradition by U.S. Marshals.

Details of the Phoenix homicide weren't immediately available Wednesday and authorities didn't know if Yepiz-Urrea had legal representation yet.
