Delays Of More Than 3 Hours Reported At Philly International

PHILADELPHIA -

A winter storm making its way through the Philadelphia area Wednesday caused some major headaches for travelers.

On its official Twitter feed, Philadelphia International Airport reported delays of up to three hours and 40 minutes Wednesday afternoon. By Wednesday night, the airport Tweeted delays of around three hours and 20 minutes.

According to the FAA's Air Traffic Control System Command Center, traffic destined to Newark International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport and La Guardia Airport were among those destinations that faced the longest delays for travelers.

A mix of rain and snow made its way into the area Wednesday morning. By the afternoon, much of the system changed over to rain.

The National Weather Service says between 1 and 2 inches of rain is possible for the area.
