WILMINGTON, Del. -

An elderly woman in Wilmington is searching for her Shih Tzu "Noel" after the dog was inside of her car when a thief stole it Friday night.

According to police, the car was parked with the keys in the ignition outside of St. Anthony's Church on the 900 block of DuPont Street.

Police say a suspect got in and drove off with the dog still inside.

By early Saturday morning, police found the vehicle but the dog was not inside.

Police say the woman is especially concerned because she says her dog suffers from cataracts and partial blindness.

If you have any information about Noel, you're asked to call the Wilmington Police Department's non-emergency number at 302-654-5151.
