Should armed police officers be posted at schools?

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

As the National Rifle Association sees it, guns are the solution, not the problem when it comes to shootings like the one last week at Sandy Hook Elementary.

The head of the National Rifle Association on Friday called for armed police officers to be posted at all of the nation's schools.

Locally, several districts, including Fulton, Cobb, Atlanta Public Schools, and DeKalb Schools, have armed resource officers in middle and high schools, but not in elementary schools. Several school officials told FOX 5's George Franco that those officers are typically within a 1.5 miles away from elementary schools.

What do you think? Should armed officers be at elementary schools? Post your thoughts below!
