PHILADELPHIA -

A large group marched through Center City Thursday night to protest the School District of Philadelphia's restructuring plan that will impact 37 schools.

The march and candlelight vigil, organized by members of ACTION United, started at 4 p.m. in the courtyard of City Hall and made its way to school district headquarters.

The march took place shortly before the School Reform Commission was scheduled to meet.

Inside school district headquarters, a large group chanted "save our schools" as SRC members waited to start the meeting.,

Last week, Superintendent Dr. William Hite unveiled the details in district reorganization plan that would impact 37 schools.
