NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A tanker ship ran aground in the Hudson River in upstate New York on Thursday morning, the Coast Guard said.

The Stena Primorsk, a 600-foot motor tanker carrying crude oil, lost steering while heading south from the Port of Albany, the Coast Guard said. The tanker dropped anchor near Stuyvesant, a community on the east bank of the Hudson River in Columbia County.

The crew said no one was hurt and no oil has spilled, and Coast Guard Auxiliary and New York State Police aircraft reported seeing no pollution in the river around the vessel, authorities said.

Coast Guard, state, and local responders were on the scene investigating what happened.

The Stena Primorsk is a United Kingdom-flagged ship built in 2006, according to MarineTraffic.com.
