(WJBK) -- Chef Paul was thumbing through a family recipe book back in Australia when he came across of his mother's favorite holiday desserts. Get the recipe below for a treat that lets the kids get involved in the kitchen as well.

Ingredients:
10 Vita Brits or Weet Bix  (these are an Australian, Canadian or English breakfast Cereal - You can find them at Meijer, Kroger's or Hillers and I am sure other grocery stores around Detroit)
½ cup of coconut flakes - unsweetened
2 tablespoons of Cocoa
1 cup of golden raisins
1 can (14 ounce) Lo fat Condensed Milk
1/8 - ¼ cup of spiced or dark Rum - optional - or used Artificial Rum flavor (McCormick's)
Extra coconut or chocolate sprinkles.

Directions:
In a food processor - mix the cereal bar to break them up.
Add all the dry ingredients and pulse to mix
Add the condensed milk and rum and blend together.
Chill in the refrigerator for about 45 minutes to one hour.
Use a small ice cream scoop -  about  1" or less in diameter or just take a teaspoon of mix and roll it in your hands to form a ball.
Roll in extra coconut flakes or chocolate sprinkles.

Make at least 24 balls.
