MYFOXNY.COM -

A massive fire ripped through a commercial building on 7th Street and Court Street in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Investigators will try to determine what ignited the flames Tuesday morning at the Portuguese Auto Repair and Express Trailer Repair shops. The fire quickly reached seven alarms and was brought under control several hours later.

Firefighting efforts were hampered by vehicles and fuel in the building and a truss roof, reported the Associated Press.

Firefighters from throughout Union County, Newark and two FDNY ladder companies from Staten Island responded to the inferno, reported NJ.com.

No one was injured.
