There's no question the Philadelphia region is home to one of the most advanced medical centers in the world, but for some, art plays a role in medicine and miracles.
At the Philadelphia Museum of Art, hanging on a wall is the work of insurance professional turned full-time artist Kay Martin.
It's not a Picasso - that's not Kay's style - but instead it features recycled items or trash to some people.
It all started after a terrible car accident that left Martin with a broken neck.
Without any feeling in her hands, Martin underwent excruciating therapy at Magee Rehabilitation in Philadelphia.
Her therapist, Lori Tiberi, helped Kay paint her way through it.
Her passion has become her therapy.
"It helps psychologically, it helps physically," Kay said.
Kay's spirit and creativity is why the museum displayed her piece as part of a special partnership with Magee Rehabilitation.
A life long dream of Kay's has come true by way of a life altering nightmare.
