CHICAGO (Associated Press) -

An airline passenger who allegedly groped a woman sitting next to him while she slept is on trial in Chicago.

Srinivasa Erramilli is charged with abusive sexual contact during a Las Vegas-to-Chicago flight last year. The Aurora man pleaded not guilty.

Jurors in the federal trial were expected to begin deliberations Wednesday.

Government filings allege the victim awoke several times when Erramilli touched her leg and at one point yelled at him, saying, "Get your hands off me."

Once the plane landed, Erramilli allegedly said his wife and children were waiting for him and pleaded with flight attendants not to call police.

Prosecutors say Erramilli was convicted in 2002 after a similar incident and was sentenced to three years of probation.

Erramilli's attorney didn't return a message seeking comment.
