Top Chicago recruit Parker to pick school Dec. 20

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Associated Press) -

Top high school recruit Jabari Parker of Chicago's Simeon Career Academy appears set to announce his college choice.

The Chicago Sun-Times first reported that Parker will reveal his decision Dec. 20 at 3 p.m. CT at the school, and coach Robert Smith confirmed that to the Chicago Tribune on Wednesday.

Messages seeking comment were left with Parker's parents and Smith.

A 6-foot-8 forward, Parker is 1 of the most prized recruits to come along in recent years. Duke, Michigan State, Florida, Brigham Young and Stanford made his top five.

Parker has been slowed while recovering from a foot injury after leading Simeon to its third straight state championship as a junior.
