Steven Van Zandt rocks out with Brian Kirk and the Jirks

MYFOXNY.COM -

It was a magical, spontaneous and completely unscripted moment on Good Day NY when legendary rocker Steven Van Zandt joined in an impromptu performance of the song he wrote decades ago, I Don't Want to Go Home.

Jersey Shore cover band Brian Kirk and the Jirks were on the show to talk about their fundraising concert to benefit victims of superstorm Sandy.

Little Steven was also appearing on Wednesday's show to preview The Concert for Sandy Relief that he's taking part in with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at Madison Square Garden.

Just as Brian Kirk and the Jirks started playing the Southside Johnny hit going into commercial break, Little Steven couldn't resist and joined in. (He did, after all, write the song nearly 40 years ago!)

It will likely go down as one of the biggest moments for Brian Kirk and the Jirks.

And, as for the commercial break, it had to wait a couple of minutes.
