2 Police Officers Hurt In Crashes Involving Alleged DUI Drivers

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Two Philadelphia police officers are injured within a block of each other in Northeast Philadelphia thanks to two different allegedly drunk drivers.

One officer was on his motorcycle when a black car hit him at the intersection of Horrocks and Knorr streets.

SkyFOX was over the scene at Bustleton and Cottman avenues, where police later found the driver.

The officer was not seriously hurt, and police said they arrested the driver for driving under the influence.

And the other accident involving an officer in the Northeast put a female police officer in the hospital. Investigators say, her cruiser was rear-ended near a shopping center.

Police say a woman in a gray Chrysler struck the officer's vehicle along the 2200 block of Bleigh Avenue. The driver tried to flee, but was caught at the Target store on Bustleton Avenue.

Police said they arrested her for DUI.

The officer did hit her head but is expected to make quick recovery.
