Detroit's All Star strip club to remain closed

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

The Detroit Board of Zoning Appeals has voted down a proposal to reopen the All Star Strip Club.

People who live near the building on Eight Mile and Hubbell have loudly protested any plan to reopen the club. The lounge was padlocked and the liquor license revoked after years of shootings, murders and an infamous incident involving a 14-year old girl who was found dancing there.

The new operator, Rosas Mexican Foods in Taylor, has been trying to transfer a liquor license there and reopen.

But on Tuesday board members listened to more comments from the community and ultimately decided to deny a request by the club's owners. So far there has been no comment from the owners about  what will happen next with the property.
