Police are on the hunt for a man who followed a 21-year-old woman into an apartment building in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx and raped her.

The sexual assault took place at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday in a building stairwell on East 143rd Street and Morris Avenue.

The suspect is described by police as male, Black and approximately 5'7" tall.

He was wearing black sweat pants, a black hooded sweatshirt and a Yankee hat.

Police say he has a bump on his left cheek.
