Facebook crashes for some users

Posted: Updated:
MYFOXNY.COM -

Facebook was down for many users on Monday afternoon, according to many reports on Twitter and elsewhere.

The outage began being noticed at about 5:45 p.m. EST, according to Mashable.com. Other users reported being able to access the site but not being able to see images, Mashable reported.

Some employees at Fox 5 News were unable to access Facebook, getting a message that the web browser "can't find the server at www.facebook.com."

Facebook said it made a change to its domain name system setup and that resulted in some users temporarily not being able to reach the site, the AP reported.
