Police investigating a fatal shooting in Midtown Manhattan.

The NYPD on Tuesday released images of a gunman who executed a man from Los Angeles in Midtown Manhattan on Monday afternoon.
Police are searching for at least two suspects who made off in a car after what is being described as a "hit" right in front of a school.
At about 2 p.m. Monday, Brandon Lincoln Woodard, 31, of Los Angeles, was walking westbound on West 58th Street when a gunman in dark clothing shot him once in the back of the head, police said.
Security camera video from the street shows that about 10 minutes before the shooting, the gunman got out of a late-model Lincoln sedan, pulled the hood of his jacket over his head, and waited on the street for his victim.
After killing Woodard, the gunman got back into the passenger seat of the Lincoln, which then drove away heading east on West 58th Street and then south on 7th Avenue, police said.
The gunman appeared to be bald with a beard, Browne said.
Medics brought Woodard to Roosevelt Hospital where he died, the FDNY said.
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said Woodard may have been lured to his death on that block. Before the shooting, Woodard could be seen on the security video walking back and forth on the block and checking his phone.
The shooting "was not a random thing as far as we can tell," Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Tuesday.
The shooting happened outside of the St. Thomas Choir School and across from a firehouse, near Columbus Circle and a block south of Central Park.
Woodard had some prior arrests in the Los Angeles area. A student named Brandon Woodard with the same birthday as the victim graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles in 2003, the AP reported.
The NYPD said that ballistics tests show that the weapon used in the shooting is a 9mm semiautomatic and appears to be the same gun used in a shooting in November 2009. In that incident, shots were fired into a home in southeast Queens, breaking windows and a door frame. No arrests were made in that case.
