PD: Stepson hits, attempts to choke stepfather

Posted: Updated:
CHANDLER, Ariz. -

Police say a stepson who hit his stepdad over the head with a hand gun is in custody after a standoff situation near Germann and Alma School Roads Sunday night.

Sgt. Joe Favazzo says a man in his 20's allegedly hit his stepfather over the head with a handgun and then tried to choke him.

The stepfather was able to get away and call the Chandler police.

Favazzo says officers arrived and the stepfather told them there were more weapons in the house.

Officers tried to communicate with the stepson, who was still inside the house. Eventually, the stepson came out and was taken in to police custody.

We don't know why the two men started fighting. The stepson's name hasn't been released.

This is a developing story. Stay with FOX 10 News for updates.
