FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Northern Arizona authorities say a man has been arrested in shooting death of his girlfriend, whose body was found inside a home near Flagstaff.

Coconino County Sheriff's officials say 19-year-old Maurice Holmes was taken into custody Friday night.

He's being held on suspicion of first-degree murder in the death of 27-year-old Alisha Joe of Flagstaff.

Her body was discovered about 11:30 a.m. Friday in Cosnino, a neighborhood east of Flagstaff off Interstate 40.

Sheriff's emergency dispatchers received the report that someone had been shot at the home.

They found Joe on the floor of a back bedroom and she was declared dead at the scene.

Authorities say Holmes still was at the scene, which is the home of 1 of his relatives.

It's unclear if Holmes has a lawyer yet.
