NACO, Ariz. -

Three illegal immigrants were arrested for smuggling marijuana into the country after a golfer saw them walking on Naco Highway on Tuesday.

A golfer at Turquoise Valley called deputies and told them three people were walking on Naco Highway carrying large backpacks.

When deputies arrived, 22-year-old Adrian Alejandro Cuevas-Parra, 46-year-old Regelio Sierra-Amaya and a minor dropped their backpacks and ran toward the border.

Deputies and Border Patrol agents ran after them and eventually took all three into custody.

Ten bundles of marijuana were found in the backpacks.
