CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

There were some tense moments aboard one flight Tuesday.

A brand new United 787 Dreamliner jet had to make an emergency landing.

The jet was on its way from Newark to Houston Tuesday when it suddenly started to lose speed at 41,000 feet. It made an emergency landing in New Orleans.

The plane slowed from 655 to 480 miles an hour and descended 10,000 feet over 10 minutes before full power was restored.

The 174 passengers and crew of 10 landed without incident.

United just took delivery of the plane on November 20.
