A family who lost their passports in Philadelphia and nearly missed a crucial adoption meeting in Ukraine are now one big step closer to finalizing their adoption plans.

FOX 29's Bruce Gordan first told you about Tom and Reagan Mountain in November.

With the help of Congressman Bob Brady, the North Carolina couple quickly received replacement passports they had lost on their way to the adoption meeting in Kiev.

The Mountain family tells FOX 29 their November meeting went well. On Tuesday, the family says they received another positive ruling from an adoption judge.

Following a 10-day waiting period, the Mountains say they will get the paperwork they need to bring Liza home.

They say their goal is to be back in North Carolina by Christmas.
