Grosse Pointe cancels alert about home invasion suspect

GROSSE POINTE, Mich. (WJBK) -- An alert issued to some Grosse Pointe residents after a home invasion on University has been canceled.

Residents in the area of Neff and Lakeland between Charlevoix and Mack had been warned that a home invasion suspect may be in their area.

Police checked the area.  A message issued by the city says the suspect is "no longer in the vicinity".

The suspect is described as a black man, 6'3" tall, with a thin build.  If you have any information, you should contact police.
