George Zimmerman's lawyers have released a color photograph of Zimmerman's bloody face from the night 17-year old Trayvon Martin was killed.
The photo of George Zimmerman taken by a police officer on the
night of February 26, 2012. A black and white photocopy of this image
was provided by the State in the first Discovery. A high-resolution
digital file was provided to the defense on October 29, according to the defense.
The defense claims Zimmerman shot Trayvon in self defense, while prosecutors maintain Zimmerman hunted Martin down.
The attorney for Trayvon Martin's family, Benjamin Crump, released a statement in response to the photo's release, which read, "This is the picture we've already seen. It's now in color, there's nothing that changes what police concluded, which is that if George Zimmerman would have never gotten out of his car and had waited on the police to do their job, there would have never been any interaction between him and Trayvon Martin."
