PD: Sleepy driver to blame for rollover crash

Posted: Updated:
SURPRISE, Ariz. -

A father falls asleep and rolls his sport utility vehicle with his two young daughters inside.

Surprise police say after the man fell asleep near Sunrise and Clearview Boulevards, the SUV struck a curb and rolled over Monday morning.

Thankfully, the driver, the 4-year-old and the baby were properly restrained by seatbelts and child seats.

All three were hospitalized and are expected to recover.  Had they not been strapped in, authorities say it could have been much worse.

Police say make sure you're awake and alert when driving -- if not, don't drive.

Authorities say the driver was not impaired and no names were released in this case.
