PHOENIX -

Police are questioning a group of people in connection with an overnight shooting.

Authorities say it happened at a home near 31st Avenue and Van Buren when the two groups were involved in some sort of argument and someone opened fire.

At least one male was shot and according to FOX 10's Anita Roman, his blood could be seen all over the sidewalk.

"There was not a party, but there was some type of altercation involving several people..don't know all the dynamics of it or what was going on, but as a result of their meeting or altercation, someone was shot," said Lt. Jeff Pierce of the Phoenix Police Department.

That's when several people entered a white limousine and took off from the scene.  They were eventually stopped by officers near 16th Street and Indian School a short time later.

As to how many people were taken into custody, police haven't released a number.

The victim was transported to an area hospital and remains in serious condition.

No names were released in this case.

This is a developing story.  Stay with FOX 10 News for updates.
