Police impersonator assaults man in the Bronx

The NYPD is looking for the suspect who assaulted a man in the Bronx in his home acting as a police impersonator. 

Police say the suspect knocked on the door of a home on Corona Avenue around 5:30 p.m. on October 30 and was allowed enter the apartment. 

The 41-year-old victim thought he recognized the suspect who suddenly displayed a police shield, silver gun, and demanded money. Police say the attempted to run and the suspect fired one time hitting the unidentified victim in the left thigh.  

The suspect then fled the location.  

The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was treated and released. 

Authorities say the suspect is described as being A Hispanic man, around 30-35 year old, 5'8" 190 lbs. A surveillance video shows the suspect as he approaches and enters the house.
