Woman shot in Goodyear, police look for suspect

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -

A 41-year-old woman was shot near Chandler Heights and Rainbow Valley Roads on Saturday night. Police believe a hitch hiker she picked up might be to blame.

Police say a suspect shot the woman twice in the back and then fled the scene.

Investigators say they've received conflicting stories about what actually happened, so no arrests have been made.

The woman was airlifted to an area hospital. Goodyear police say she is in stable condition.

Officers are continuing to investigate and search for a suspect.
