SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (myFOXDetroit.com) -

The family of Jasmine Barbour has had a long three years. Barbour died after being hit by a car. Her boyfriend, Adam Davis Jr., is the convicted driver, but lucky breaks seem to keep coming his way.

Back in 2010 he was charged with Barbour's murder. But the witnesses never showed up for trial and the case was dismissed.

Prosecutors charged him again in 2011. They agreed upon a plea deal for manslaughter.

Davis was then released on bond and put on a tether while he waited for his sentence, despite his long list of criminal activity.

And Friday, November 30th, was the day he was set to learn his sentence – but he's reportedly cut his tether and ran.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's office says they are working with law enforcement trying to locate Davis Jr.
