Investigators probe Cobb Co apartment blaze

Posted: Updated:
COBB COUNTY, Ga. -

Investigators are probing the cause of a fire that tore through a Cobb County apartment complex early on Friday morning.

Firefighters say the building at the Charters Square Apartment Homes on Old Concord Road was engulfed in flames when they got there. Crews had to lay hoses from the main road because the complex has no fire hydrants.

"First units arrived, they reported heavy fire showing from the front of the building, coming out of the front door. They were able to make a quick attack on it, get the fire knocked down," said Captain Bill Johnson of the Cobb County Fire Department.

One family was displaced by the fire, and no was hurt.
