PHOENIX -

Phoenix police are releasing video that shows a 71-year old woman knocked to the ground during a purse snatching.

It happened outside a Fry's Store near 7th Street and Hatcher, on Sept. 9.

The woman is walking towards the sidewalk when the suspect comes up from behind and grabs her purse.

But this is one tough granny. She manages to hold on to her purse despite being knocked down and dragged on the asphalt.

Silent Witness is offering a $1,000 reward for information to help solve this case.

The suspect is described as a white male, 18 to 25 years old, 5'5" to 5'8", 120 to 160 pounds (thin build) and wearing a backpack.
