Christmas could come early for one lucky person this year. How's a $550-million present sound?
Powerball fever is sweeping the nation as the jackpot soars to its highest peak in history.
Do you have your tickets?
The estimated jackpot has now grown to $550 million, Powerball officials announced just after noon on Wednesday. A single winner choosing the cash payout would take home more than $360 million, before taxes.
The tickets doubled in price to $2 last January.
Officials now say believe there is a 75 percent chance the winning numbers will be drawn Wednesday night.
The jackpot is the largest ever for the Powerball game, and the second largest lottery jackpot of all time.
We hate to burst your bubble, but the odds aren't in your favor (1 in 175 million).
Here are some things that are more likely to happen before you strike it rich:
Birthing identical quadruplets odds: 13,000,000 to 1;
Dating a supermodel odds: 88,000 to 1;
And if that last one comes true, you won't want this to happen – dying in an asteroid apocalypse odds: 12,500 to 1.
FOX 29's Stephanie Esposito was reporting live on the ticket-buying frenzy Wednesday morning from a 7-Eleven in Frankford.
