MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (WJBK) -- Sharon is still shaken after being the victim of a crime.  Monday afternoon, she left her house to run an errand and returned to a mess.

"Went into the house and there was a huge brick laying on the floor and the glass was completely shattered everywhere," she said.  "I went upstairs and everything upstairs had been ransacked."

Police believe the crooks staked out Sharon's neighborhood waiting for someone to leave.

"It was mostly like the small things, the jewelry, any coins or cash that happened to be sitting around, anything small they took and took the pillowcase and put everything in the pillowcase and hauled off with it," Sharon explained.

Using the pillowcase may have been the crooks' big mistake.  Someone in the neighborhood noticed the odd behavior and was able to give a description of a couple and their car.

Detectives spent the afternoon questioning the suspects and were able to recover some of the stolen goods, but it's uncertain at this time if they have everything that was taken out of Sharon's home.  She's expected to come to the sheriff's department on Wednesday to identify the stolen goods.
