New Jersey Marine dies in Afghanistan

A Marine from New Jersey has been killed in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense reported.

Cpl. Christopher M. Monahan Jr., 25, of Island Heights, died November 26, 2012, during combat operations in Helmand province, the Pentagon said.

He was assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 2, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force, based out of Camp Lejeune, N.C.
