In Bucks County, Storm Serves As Reminder Of Winter To Come

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. -

In Bucks County, the concern Tuesday night is turning to the roadways, as the snow and rain that fell earlier in the day is now freezing into black ice.

In Doylestown, some might call Tuesday's storm a winter storm practice run. More than three inches of snow fell in the area, but the evening rush hour was more of a nuisance than nasty.

"I don't think it was that bad," Rachele Daniels of Doylestown told FOX 29's Chris O'Connell.

"It was pretty, but the road conditions were pretty good."

There were a few cancellations, but for many, the storm was an early reminder that it could be a long winter.

"This is early for the season," landscaper Scott Kallen said.

Kallen says he was busy over the last month due to Sandy. Now, a November snow is a welcome boost to the bottom line.

"This is what we live for, us snow plow guys, we think about this all spring and summer while we're doing our landscaping. It's in the back of our minds, so this early in the season, we're very happy about it."

State police say there were plenty of reports of fender benders and minor accidents during the morning rush. Troopers say there were no major incidents that were weather related. Just to be sure, PennDOT trucks will be out salting through the night.
