Griffin police make arrest in bank robbery case

GRIFFIN, Ga. -

Police in Griffin say they have arrested a man in connection with the robbery of a bank that happened last week.

Police say 46-year-old Jamie Lanier Colquitt is accused of robbing the First National Bank of Griffin on November 23, and that they arrested Colquitt on November 26. Investigators say they recovered some of the proceeds from the bank robbery, along with a blue Chrysler PT Cruiser.

Colquitt is facing a charge of robbery by intimidation, and police say they suspect him of several other crimes in Griffin.

According to police, the Pike County Sheriff's Office assisted in the case, and they have related charges on Colquitt. He is currently in the custody of the Pike County Sheriff's Office.
