Deputies say that a man insulted his cousin's mother and then stabbed him.

Last Wednesday morning, deputies were dispatched to a Farmer's Market in Maricopa. They located an adult man who had been stabbed multiple times.

The investigation revealed that several migrant farm workers all living at a residence had been drinking throughout the night. About 1 a.m., an argument broke out between two cousins.

Deputies say that 35-year-old Isidoro Renteria Contreras of Mexico made a disparaging comment about his cousin's mother.

The argument escalated verbally until Contreras stabbed his cousin repeatedly with an 8-inch field knife.

PCSO says Contreras showed no remorse for stabbing his cousin and admitted to being in the United States illegally.

The cousin is expected to survive. Contreras was booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center for aggravated assault.
