Woman gives birth at Arizona port of entry

Posted: Updated:
SAN LUIS, Ariz. -

A woman on her way into the United States barely made it to the border before she gave birth on Thanksgiving.

While entering the port, the women immediately asked U.S. Customs and Border Protection for help, saying that she was in labor.

They called the San Luis Fire Department for help, but the baby couldn't wait. The baby was born a few minutes later, with the help of a CBP Officer.

The mother and the baby, a boy, were taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

A CBP news release did not mention where the woman was from.
