High-Speed Police Chase Ends In Northeast Philly Garage

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

A man police say is wanted in connection to an alleged crime spree that spans several counties was taken into custody Monday after a wild police chase that ended inside of the garage of a Northeast Philadelphia home.

SkyFOX was over the scene of the high-speed police chase around 2 p.m. as the car could be seen zipping through traffic east on I-76 and I-676 before heading north on I-95.

SkyFOX then flew over the scene as it pulled off the highways and into a garage in the area of the 4700 block of Sheffield Street.

A woman could be seen closing the doors to the garage as the vehicle pulled in.

Police briefly stood outside of a home where the car was seen pulling into the garage. Minutes later, with bolt cutters and guns drawn, police opened the garage and took the driver into custody.

A woman who appeared to be the same one who closed the garage door was also placed into a police car.

Police say two children were also removed from the home.

Neighbors tell FOX 29's Shawnette Wilson they weren't surprised to hear the suspect was wanted for alleged burglary.
