Tastykake maker Flowers Foods may buy Hostess assets, like Twinkies

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Reports surfaced Monday indicating that someone may already be moving in to buy some of the Hostess assets.

Flowers Foods, the company that makes Tastykake and Nature's Own Baked Goods may be ready to make a bid for the Hostess divisions, which make Twinkies and some other Hostess brands.

Flowers is the second largest baker in America.

A takeover by Flowers would probably not save the jobs of the 18,000 Hostess workers because of the costs of the labor contracts they work under.
