Phoenix police responding to a reported shooting Sunday detained a man seen running from the scene.
Officers responded to the area of 7100 block of West Mulberry about 7:30 p.m. Sunday on reports of a shooting.
As the man ran away, other officers found a man fatally shot at the same scene. Officers and a police dog chased the man who ran away and were able to detain him, said Sgt. Steve Martos. The extent of his involvement in the crime is unknown.
The victim, 20-year-old George Nunez, died at a hospital Sunday evening.
Police have identified a suspect in the case and are in the process of looking for him. His name and photo have not yet been released.
