Woman Hospitalized After Escaping Fire

Family members say 26-year-old Ashley Austin is in the critical care unit at HUP after she jumped from a second story window to escape a house fire. 

They say  Austin is  on a breathing machine in  the critical care unit at  HUP--suffering from smoke inhalation.

The fire started around 2:00am Saturday morning on the 2500 block of S. 71St Street.  It was placed under control about an hour later.

Family members tell Fox 29 News that Austin is a mother of one year old twins who weren't with her at the house when it went up in flames. They say she was house sitting for an out of town aunt.

What caused the fire is still under investigation.
