PHOENIX -

Police say a woman is in critical condition after three gunmen opened fire during a soccer game at a west Phoenix park near 43rd Avenue and Encanto.

Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Martos says the soccer game was under way at Sueno Park at about 7 p.m. Saturday when two men with handguns and one with a rifle showed up and began shooting.

The three men fled from the park after the shooting and have not been found. The 32-year-old Hispanic woman was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to her shoulder.

Martos says police don't know why the three men began shooting or if the woman was the intended target.

Authorities say the suspects are described as being Hispanic males in their 20s.
