ORO VALLEY, Ariz. -

A missing 51-year-old woman who was last seen Wednesday morning has been found dead on Mount Lemmon.

The family of Janet Rennspies reported her missing on Thanksgiving and police asked agencies in Pima and Pinal counties to look for her.

Her family found her car in the parking lot of the Mount Lemmon observatory on Friday and search and rescue teams scoured the area for signs of Rennspies. She wasn't an avid hiker but was known to enjoy outdoor activities.

Wednesday about 3 p.m., a hiker notified search and rescue of a deceased female.

Deputies arrived on scene and say the body fits the description of Rennspies. The investigation is ongoing.
