Valerie Bertinelli addresses overeating in new book

Posted: Updated:
TEMPE, Ariz. -

Actress Valerie Bertinelli made an appearance in the valley Friday at Changing Hands Book store in Tempe for the release of her new book.

Bertinelli, a big fan of the kitchen, offers up a collection of recipes from her Italian heritage as well as provides an intimate look into her kitchen in her new release "One Dish at a Time."

People across the valley showed up to hear the actress speak about her new book and her past struggles with over-eating.

"It's eating healthy, its eating respectfully, its eating knowing that food is to nourish your body and not to use food as a crutch, or use food as something that would suppress a feeling that I don't want to feel any longer," says Bertinelli.

Bertinelli hopes to help others who battle with poor eating habits to enjoy the pleasures of the table once again.
