CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. -

A Chester County family who was devastated when they lost their beloved dog welcomed a new one to their family Wednesday.

Pamela and Dean Ardell told FOX 29 in September that someone found their dog "Mugsy" but instead of returning him, they tossed him out of a car window.

Since our story aired, the family says the offers have been pouring in from generous FOX 29 viewers who have wanted to donate a new dog.

While the family says they were grateful, they wanted to pick out their own new family member.

The parents surprised their kids, Quinn and baby Vivian, with a new puppy named "Moe."

The girls took no time at all to welcome their new friend.

Mom Pam says there is no way to explain to her four-year-old daughter just what happened to her best friend Mugsy, who the family says no dog could replace.

The family tells FOX 29 they are still offering a $2,000 reward to find out what happened to Mugsy.
