A skateboarder died in Manhattan on Tuesday morning when he fell and was hit by a box truck.

It happened about 11:15 a.m. at 37 Union Square West.

The NYPD says a 24-year-old was riding his skateboard when he lost control, fell and was hit by a 2004 Mitsubishi delivery box truck.

The unidentified man was taken to Beth Israel Hospital where he died.

The driver remained on the scene and police say no criminality was suspected.
