Young mother shot inside garage, boyfriend sought

AVONDALE, Ariz. -

Police are searching for the boyfriend of a woman who was killed Monday morning, calling him a suspect in the crime.

Neighbors called police to report a shooting around 7 a.m. Monday in the area of 107th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found 28-year-old Donella Clauschee dead inside her garage and the garage door open.

"We were getting our kids ready for school. Heard a couple gunshots," said Dave Brzycki, a neighbor.  "It was like a loud pop... came out, saw a red PT Cruiser flying by the house."

Clauschee was shot several times inside her garage while placing her 5-year-old daughter in a car seat. The child was not hurt.

Avondale Police said Monday afternoon they are looking for 41-year-old Michael Hall. He is considered a suspect and may be driving a red 2002 PT Cruiser bearing Arizona License plate AVJ5881.

Hall is the victim's boyfriend and the father of her 5-year-old daughter. Clauschee apparently had recently filed some restraining orders against him.

A family member of the victim had a message for the suspect:

"I would like to see the person who did this..I wish you a Happy Thankgiving wherever you're at and I hope you die in hell," said Buddy Morgan.

Clauschee's brother couldn't believe this happened.

"She was happy.  She was great.  She was joyful," he said.  She had everything."

Police first identified Hall as a person of interest, but as the investigation has progressed, they feel they have cause to call him a suspect. Anyone with information on Hall's whereabouts should call (623) 333-7227 or 480-WITNESS.
